Owens has been proposing multiple theories about the incident, including the possibility of international involvement and questioning the official narrative that Tyler Robinson was the sole perpetrator.
On December 2, 2025, Owens escalated her claims, suggesting a betrayal within Turning Point USA. As reported by the Daily Mail, Owens took to X—a social media platform—to make a public statement. "I now can say with full confidence that I believe Charlie Kirk was betrayed by the leadership of Turning Point USA and some of the very people who eulogized him on stage," she wrote. Owens has vowed to provide evidence and name individuals involved, urging donors to the organization to request refunds, accusing the leadership of deception.
Turning Point USA responded promptly, dismissing Owens' accusations and sharing the distress top officials have experienced due to unprecedented levels of harassment, including from far-left groups such as Antifa. Blake Neff, Kirk's former producer, stated, "My friends have had to endure harassment from people who have gotten whipped up by what Candace is saying," adding that the harassment from these individuals surpassed that from Antifa supporters who openly celebrated Kirk's murder.
Before his death, Kirk had openly criticized Israel, a stance that diverged markedly from his previous position as a defender of the Jewish State. In a Valuetainment interview with Patrick Bet-David, Kirk expressed concerns about Israel's policies towards Gaza. Following his assassination, Owens suggested not only Israel but also the Egyptian government could have been involved, citing the landing of government aircraft at locations linked to Turning Point events.
Owens also claimed that Kirk's widow, Erika Kirk, was fully aware of the conversations between her husband and Israeli figures, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. In a tweet, Owens responded to a user's question about Erika's knowledge, confirming, "Erika knows everything."
