Pop star Pink, also known as Alecia Beth Moore, is at the center of a heated controversy following accusations that she glorified the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. The dispute erupted after a TikTok video by creator RigoStaRR went viral, criticizing Pink’s comments and social media posts about Kirk’s death.
Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, a prominent conservative youth organization, was tragically assassinated earlier this month. The incident has led to a wide range of public reactions, including memorial events and tributes across the nation. Kirk has been hailed by many conservatives as a significant influence on the next generation of activists.
At the heart of the current backlash are Pink's alleged remarks on social media, which some claim not only mocked Kirk’s assassination but also disseminated false information regarding former President Donald Trump's actions in its aftermath. Pink reportedly suggested that during Charlie Kirk’s funeral service, the organist should play "Pop Goes the Weasel" while attendees faced a closed casket, a comment that many of Kirk's supporters found to be in poor taste.
RigoStaRR's video, which has spread across TikTok, Twitter, and Instagram, directly addressed Pink’s statements. “Exposed: Pink crossed the line, so now it’s time to drag her,” RigoStaRR said in his video. He went on to denounce Pink's remarks as disrespectful to Kirk and his grieving family, friends, and supporters.
One of the key points of contention was Pink's claim that President Trump ordered the American flag to be flown at half-staff for Kirk but neglected to do so after a school shooting. RigoStaRR refuted this by citing a White House proclamation that directed flags to be lowered following the August 27, 2025, shooting at Annunciation Catholic Church in Minneapolis.
The proclamation read: “As a mark of respect for the victims of the senseless acts of violence perpetrated on August 27, 2025, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, by the authority vested in me as President of the United States by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, I hereby order that the flag of the United States shall be flown at half-staff.”
RigoStaRR also highlighted Pink's career, questioning her relevance and encouraging people to boycott her music. “What exactly are you gonna be known for? You haven’t had a hit in years… If you guys have any of her music downloaded, delete that shit. Garbage,” he stated.
The incident has reignited discussions about the role of Hollywood celebrities in political discourse, with many questioning the appropriateness of their comments on sensitive matters. Pink, known for chart-topping hits like “So What” and “Just Give Me a Reason,” has been vocal about social and political issues, often supporting progressive causes.
In the wake of Kirk's assassination, Turning Point USA has reportedly seen significant growth, with RigoStaRR noting the establishment of over 54,000 new chapters. Founded in 2012 by Kirk, the organization has been influential in promoting conservative values, focusing on free markets, limited government, and constitutional rights among young Americans.
As the debate continues, Pink's alleged comments have become a flashpoint for discussions on celebrity influence and the boundaries of political commentary.
