The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has apprehended 29-year-old Tyler Maxon Avalos from Minnesota in connection with a disturbing solicitation of violence on social media. Avalos is accused of offering a $45,000 reward for the killing of Attorney General Pam Bondi, as stated in a TikTok post under the account name "Wacko." This alarming content came to light when a vigilant user reported the post to the authorities.
The controversial TikTok post stated, "WANTED: Pam Bondi / REWARD: 45,000 / DEAD OR ALIVE / (PREFERABLY DEAD)," and included an image where the "A" in Wacko was styled to resemble an anarchist symbol. The post was subsequently sent to the FBI's tip line, as it was interpreted as a serious threat against Bondi's life, according to reports from Law Enforcement Today and Trending Politics.
Tyler Maxon Avalos is currently in custody and is not unfamiliar with the criminal justice system. His past includes multiple arrests, with a felony stalking charge in Dakota County, Minnesota, in 2022. The following years witnessed further legal troubles for Avalos, including a conviction for felony third-degree domestic battery and a charge for misdemeanor domestic assault.
The alleged murder-for-hire plot involving Avalos comes shortly after the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. Kirk's alleged assailant, Tyler Robinson, is also under arrest and has recently made his first court appearance.
Social media responses to Avalos's arrest have been pointed and critical. Users on platforms such as On X and Planet of Memes have expressed disbelief and condemnation of Avalos's actions, with comments suggesting that individuals making violent threats on social media deserve harsher penalties for their actions. One tweet by Paul A. Szypula (@Bubblebathgirl) on October 27, 2025, echoed this sentiment, arguing for additional sentencing for such overt threats.
Attorney General Pam Bondi has faced substantial criticism, including from supporters within the Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement, for her handling of certain high-profile cases. Some MAGA supporters have voiced disappointment with Bondi for not fully releasing the Epstein files and for not pursuing prosecutions against President Donald Trump's political adversaries for alleged crimes. Despite this, Bondi has maintained a firm position against Democrats who, she claims, are obstructing the operations of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), including actions by former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA).
In a statement to Fox News, Bondi directed a stern warning towards Pelosi, asserting readiness to bring charges against anyone interfering with ongoing investigations. Bondi's remarks were also shared on Twitter by @MagaSanity on October 24, 2025, showcasing her determination to uphold the rule of law.
