A 31-year-old Florida woman, Nicolette Keough, was taken into custody on March 15 in connection with the alleged destruction of property across two short-term rental units in Pensacola, Florida. Keough now faces criminal mischief charges stemming from incidents that reportedly left both Airbnb properties with damages exceeding $5,000. She was booked and subsequently released after posting bond.
The alleged incidents came to light when the property owner received a notification via the Airbnb platform, alerting her to a guest causing damage inside the units. Further investigation by the owner led to the discovery of videos that had allegedly been posted to an adult content website. These videos reportedly depicted the destruction of multiple household items within the rental properties. The specific fetish website involved was not disclosed in official court documents or police reports.
According to a police report obtained by local news outlet WEAR, the extent of the alleged damage was significant. The first rental unit sustained approximately $3,980 in damage to furniture and various personal property items belonging to the owner. The second unit reportedly incurred an additional $1,374 in losses, bringing the combined total estimated damage to roughly $5,354.
The list of items reported as damaged or requiring full replacement in the first unit included an antique Crown Royal chair, a rug, a typewriter, four dining chairs, a coffee pot, a bed, a television, a record player, and an electric fireplace. In the second unit, additional items such as a vase, a green rug, an accent wall, a chair, and a tiger rug were also reported as damaged. Across both units, household appliances like a toaster and a coffee maker were identified among the items subjected to damage during the alleged incidents.
Reports from WKRG indicated that court documents suggest the videos documenting the destruction were uploaded to an adult content platform, where they were allegedly monetized by the individual who filmed them. This aspect of the case raises questions about the motivations behind the alleged acts and the use of online platforms for such purposes.
Following her March 15 arrest, Keough was reportedly captured smiling in her official booking photograph. The arrest and subsequent charges highlight the challenges faced by property owners in the short-term rental market, where instances of property damage by guests can lead to substantial financial losses and legal complications. The case will proceed through the Florida legal system as Keough faces the criminal mischief charges.
