The session, held behind closed doors on Friday, spanned roughly six hours as the committee probed Clinton's connections with Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.

During his deposition, Clinton firmly stated that he did not recognize the woman in the photo and denied any sexual encounter with her. Clinton's prepared opening remarks, made public before the deposition, emphasized his lack of awareness regarding Epstein's criminal activities. Clinton also prepared the committee for a potential lack of detailed responses, citing the period that has elapsed since the events in question. "I don’t recall," was a phrase he anticipated using during the session, clarifying that speculation or guessing would not align with his oath.
The chairman of the House Oversight Committee, Rep. James Comer (R-KY), labeled the deposition as "very productive," noting Clinton's effort to address each question. Rep. Nick Langworthy (R-NY) found Clinton's candidness notable, while Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) raised the possibility of Epstein conducting an intelligence-linked "honeypot operation," with Clinton potentially being among the targets.
Highlighting the connection, Comer referenced Epstein's multiple visits to the Clinton White House and Clinton's numerous flights on Epstein's private plane. Despite these links, Clinton expressed his ignorance of Epstein's illicit activities, stating he would have reported Epstein had he known.
