Owens, a former Daily Wire commentator known for her provocative commentary on political and social issues, has suggested that foreign elements, including the Egyptian government, may have played a role in Kirk's assassination. She refers to specific flight radar data, highlighting two aircraft from Cairo, Egypt, with tail numbers SU-BND and SU-BTT, which she believes are linked to the case.
The conservative commentator has raised questions about the narrative provided by the government regarding Kirk's death, rejecting the official statement that Tyler Robinson was responsible for the assassination. Owens instead points to a "much bigger" entity behind the assassination, implicating foreign actors and even suggesting potential complicity within the U.S. government.
Owens has connected several events that occurred in proximity to Turning Point USA activities. She noted that Kirk criticized the Biden administration's involvement in the Russia-Ukraine war in 2023. Around this time, investigative journalist James O'Keefe was removed from Project Veritas, which Owens posits may be connected to the subsequent events.
She alleged that TPUSA had a part in O'Keefe's termination and that Kirk's assassination could be tied to his support for what was perceived as a hostile takeover in the aftermath.
