The arrest occurred following homeowners' reports and home security footage that captured a suspect pulling into driveways and removing packages from porches. The footage showed the individual, later confirmed as Bond, dressed in a variety of feminine garments, confidently engaging in theft.
Sergeant Lonnie Parsons of the Mobile County Sheriff's Office detailed the peculiar aspects that led to solving the case, notably the suspect's vehicle and his distinctive appearance, which initially confused deputies as to whether it was a Halloween costume or Bond's regular attire.
Bond, a Mississippi native who had been released from prison only six months prior, had traveled back to Alabama, where deputies, acting on a tip about his location, executed a traffic stop in Grand Bay around 1 a.m. Friday. They found Bond, still dressed in the same feminine clothing, including a floral print skirt and a purple headband.
Upon searching the vehicle, deputies discovered packages reported stolen from homes in the Mobile area. Bond's booking photo, showing him with makeup, lipstick, and bleached hair, matched the appearance in the surveillance videos, strengthening the case against him.
