Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem has come forward with a startling announcement regarding the discovery of unauthorized spyware on her personal electronic devices. In a recent interview on the PBD Podcast, Secretary Noem detailed how clandestine software was installed on her phone and laptop, as well as those of other political appointees within the agency. The revelation has sent shockwaves through the department and raised questions about internal security measures.
The issue came to light during Secretary Noem's conversation with Patrick Bet-David, a conservative commentator and host of the podcast. Noem expressed her astonishment at the level of internal strife she encountered at a federal agency, which she had not anticipated. She attributed the discovery of the surveillance software to the assistance provided by Elon Musk and his Department of Government Efficiency team. The software, according to Noem, was implemented to monitor and record meetings involving her and other political hires.
“It was Elon Musk and his team who were extremely helpful to me,” Noem said. “They helped me identify that some of my own employees in my department had downloaded software on my phone and my laptop to spy on me to record our meetings.” The Secretary confirmed that the spyware was not isolated to her own devices but was also found on other Trump-appointed officials' devices across the department.
In a further alarming discovery, Secretary Noem's team found hidden rooms within the agency that contained concealed files. These files have since been turned over to attorneys for a legal review. Noem took to the social media platform X to share the news, underscoring her experience in her role and asserting the existence and threat of the deep state. She praised President Trump's leadership and affirmed a commitment to restoring integrity within the DHS.
The post by Secretary Noem read: “Performing my role as Secretary of Homeland Security has shown me just how real and dangerous the deep state really is. @elonmusk helped us find that a few DHS staff had installed spying software on the phones and computers of myself and other political hires.”
The employees found to be responsible for the installation of the spyware have been terminated from their positions. However, the identities of the individuals and the specific technical details of the software remain undisclosed. Noem, reflecting on her past beliefs about the deep state, acknowledged the severity of the issue during the podcast, stating, “I always believed when people talked about the deep state that it existed. I never would have dreamed that it was as bad as it is.”
As of now, Elon Musk has not released a public statement addressing the spyware disclosure independently. The incident is now under legal scrutiny, and it represents a significant security breach within a high-level United States government agency.
