The FBI has identified the suspect's backpack as a 25-liter Ozark Trail hiker backpack, and Sheriff Nanos has faced criticism for certain investigative decisions, such as releasing Guthrie's home to her family before the completion of evidence collection. Despite this, the investigation presses on, with officials recently revealing that the clothing and face mask worn by the suspect were likely purchased at Walmart.
